Dar Saïd opened in 2001 as the country’s first boutique hotel, in a carefully restored traditional house in Sidi Bou Saïd. Rooms are arranged around four patios; an Andalusian garden, a pool, a hammam and the Dar Zarrouk restaurant, with its terrace suspended above the gulf, create an atmosphere the large hotels cannot reproduce.
It is not a conference hotel, and that is precisely its point. For an executive committee of 10 to 20 people, a strategy session or a shareholders’ meeting, the house can be hired exclusively; sessions take place in the lounges or under the arcades, lunches in the garden.
We also use it as an evening venue for groups staying in Gammarth: dinner at Dar Zarrouk facing the sunset, then a walk down through the village lanes.
